BUILDING FIRM’S BOOST TO BUSINESS PARK

An established Burntwood company is staying put in the town despite undergoing a major expansion programme.

D P Passmore Ltd, which distributes dry wall insulation, has traded its unit on the Burntwood Business Park for a much larger one on the same estate.

The company, which employs four people and serves the building trade, predominately plastering contractors and builders merchants, said that the park offered excellent facilities and its central location with easy access to the region’s motorway network were the main reasons for wanting to stay where it was.

Gordon Sanderson, branch manager, said: “The continued boom in the house building industry has led to an increased demand for dry wall insulation.

“We are busier now than we have ever been, which is another reason why we have decided to expand because we are looking to introduce new products.”

He said that one of the major factors the company had had to take into consideration during its expansion programme was where it wanted to be based.

“Our success is based on our excellent local knowledge and our reputation for meeting the high standards of our customer in terms of delivery.

“While we looked elsewhere, nowhere offered us such easy access to the motorway network as Burntwood and the improvements which have been carried out on the business park such as better security and landscaping, mean it is now a very desirable place to do business.”
