In the five years to 2001, the business park concept
in Walsall built an enviable reputation with both the business
community and the public sector locally and nationally.
Driven by the local business community but with close partnership
links with key stakeholders, such as Chamber of Commerce,
Business Link, Walsall MBC, Groundwork, and West Midlands
Police, its success was evident:
- £500K
of public funding encouraged over £19million
of private sector investment.
- 10%
of derelict land and 22 vacant units have been brought
back into use.
- Over
1000 jobs safeguarded
- Over
100 new jobs created
